Karoline Rose Sun
Born in Karlsruhe, Germany, Karoline Rose Sun moved to France as a teenager. She discovered her growl/scream technique at twelve and started touring with local rock bands. She began as a growler and guitarist in Brutal Death Metal band Psychobolia, released a solo EP as Caroline Rose (2010), reached the final of The Voice France (2013), and was shortlisted for Eurovision Germany (2014). She coined 'Brutal Pop' — fusing pop melodies with metal fury — and the first SUN show took place at Rock en Seine festival in 2017. The name SUN is an hommage to her father, who died on the eve of her 6th birthday — a sunflower decorated his grave, and one day the grave disappeared, so she chose the name SUN to keep him alive. Beyond music, she has acted in films by Tony Gatlif (Tom Medina, Cannes 2021), Bertrand Mandico (She Is Conann) and Stéphan Castang (Vincent Must Die), performed in musicals (1789: Les Amants de la Bastille) and theatre (Avignon Festival), and collaborated with the Geneva Camerata orchestra on Metallica and Radiohead tributes.
